Junior Equity Research Analyst
Prague

Our Equity Division, Research Department team, is currently looking for a junior/fresh graduate colleague.

WOOD is a leading investment bank in Emerging Europe, with over 270 employees in six offices across Europe. You will be a part of an award-winning team of 20 analysts, who cover over 180 listed companies across EMEA. While working primarily with our Prague staff, you may also support analysts based in London, Warsaw, Athens and Istanbul.

Our Research Department is focused primarily on providing innovative idea-driven research, which leverages both our longstanding on-the-ground and local footprint in Emerging European markets, as well as the disciplines of high-quality comparative sector and industry analysis.

You will provide the information our analysts and clients, mutual funds, pension funds and hedge funds from across the world will use to make informed investment decisions.

The candidate we are looking for should be hard-working, attentive to detail, intellectually curious and interested in financial emerging markets. This is a junior role: we do not require any special skillset, except for a good command of the English language, and strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills. You will learn everything you need to know on the job.

This is the perfect opportunity for a fresh graduate or a junior. Working alongside experienced colleagues, you will have the chance to learn financial modelling and gain a deep understanding of the financial markets and various sectors of the economy.

 

The main responsibilities of an Equity Research Analyst are:

  • To help maintain and develop the coverage of listed companies, with a particular focus on developing financial modelling, forecasting, updating models and valuation skills;
  • To monitor and respond to all newsflow and other market-relevant events for the respective stocks under coverage;
  • To contribute to a regular flow of research commentary, as well as other research products distributed by the Research Department, based on newsflow, events, research ideas, etc.;
  • A target to independently publish, or contribute to, research reports and report updates on the respective stocks and sectors under coverage;
  • To support the Research Department in team data-gathering and data-mining.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • An excellent level of English –  everyday written and oral communication is required;
  • Knowledge of Russian language would be a plus;
  • The ability to present ideas;
  • An interest in investing & equity markets;
  • Good computer literacy;
  • Strong analytical and communication skills.

Sales/Sales Trading Associate

Our Equity Division, Sales/Sales trading team, is currently looking for a junior/new graduate colleague.

Responsibilities:

  • To actively manage our customer base by assisting them in equities trading and monitoring their equities portfolios;
  • To grow and manage relationships with new and existing customers through superior customer service;
  • To work with our sales team in regard to customer requests;
  • Preparing reports for clients;
  • Monitoring the competition by gathering current marketplace information on pricing, products, new products, delivery schedules, merchandising techniques, and conditions;
  • Performing additional duties and special projects as assigned or needed;
  • Daily liaison with research and trading teams to ensure that clients are given an informed view of the markets, with timely and accurate information/idea flows
  • To allocate resources to maximise client profitability;
  • To coordinate and perform a range of support activities for the team;
  • To participate in firm short-term and long-term strategy and planning sessions.

Requirements

  • A strong interest in the financial markets;
  • New graduates/juniors with a strong passion for a sales or sales trading career are welcome to apply;
  • Confident, with high energy levels;
  • A solid understanding of securities;
  • Able to communicate effectively and professionally with clients;
  • Excellent verbal and written English communication skills;
  • The ability to multi-task and handle ad-hoc projects;

PERSONAL ASSISTANT TO HEAD OF EQUITIES & MARKETING COORDINATOR

Who will you work with?

  • You will support primarily the Head of Equities, who travels abroad for client meetings frequently (mainly conducted in English).
  • You will become a valuable member of the Marketing Team.
  • You will cooperate with WOOD&Co. colleagues, as well as our clients from all over the world, on a daily basis.

What will you work on?

  • Organising agendas and maintaining calendars.
  • Coordinating travel, booking flights and accommodation, according to preferences, and assisting with itineraries.
  • Managing all communication, including telephone calls and any correspondence that does not require your managers' personal attention.
  • Planning, organising and executing external and internal meetings, conference calls, video conferences and events.
  • Various administrative tasks, such as timesheets, expenses, etc.
  • Collaborating with other Marketing Coordinators to organise corporate events, such as conferences and roadshows.

what experience should you have?

  • At least one year’s experience in a similar position is a must.
  • Excellent knowledge of MS Office.
  • An excellent command of both oral and written English.
  • Planning and time management skills.
  • The ability to multitask and prioritise a significant daily workload.
  • Good organisational and communications skills.
  • High professional and ethical standards, and respect for confidentiality.
