WOOD PX ETF Launches: Access the Prague Stock Exchange with a Single Investment from CZK 1,000

Prague, 7 September 2026 – Investors can now gain exposure to the leading stocks listed on the Prague Stock Exchange through a single product: WOOD PX ETF, developed jointly by WOOD & Company and the Prague Stock Exchange. The new ETF passively tracks the PX Index, the exchange’s benchmark, and began trading today. The fund’s total expense ratio (TER) is just 0.20% per annum, and its nominal value is CZK 1,000.

WOOD PX ETF offers a simple way to invest in the leading companies listed on the Prague Stock Exchange through a single purchase. The fund passively tracks the PX Index using optimised replication, with individual stock weights adjusted quarterly in line with the index’s regular rebalancing.

Work on the project began at the start of this year, with the intensive development phase lasting six months. WOOD & Company, a founding member of the Prague Stock Exchange and its largest securities broker, has launched the ETF in part to meet long-standing investor demand for a simple way to invest in the Czech equity market.

“Investors have been calling for an ETF that provides exposure to the Prague Stock Exchange’s benchmark index for many years. We are pleased that WOOD & Company, as one of Central Europe’s leading financial firms, can now offer this option. Designing a product that worked for everyone involved was no simple task. The technical aspects of trading and securities settlement were particularly challenging. Our goal was to make buying the ETF as simple and convenient as possible. I am convinced that the result is a high-quality product with the potential to revitalise the Czech capital market and attract new investors,” says Vladimír Jaroš, Partner and CEO of WOOD & Company.

The Czech Equity Market in a Single Investment

The PX Index currently comprises 14 stocks. Erste Group Bank and ČEZ have the largest weights, at 20% each, followed by Komerční banka, VIG and Moneta Money Bank. Other constituents include CSG, Colt CZ, Philip Morris ČR, Doosan Škoda Power and Kofola.

The ETF automatically spreads investments across multiple stocks and adjusts its portfolio as the index changes. Investors therefore do not need to buy individual stocks or rebalance the portfolio themselves. WOOD PX ETF trades continuously on the Prague Stock Exchange during standard trading hours.

“For the Prague Stock Exchange, this marks a milestone almost two decades in the making. WOOD PX ETF significantly expands our range of investment products, and we believe it has the potential to attract both new retail investors and international institutions. It offers retail investors a simple way to gain exposure to the Czech equity market and spread risk across multiple stocks through a single investment, rather than buying individual shares. I believe it will also find a place in portfolios held under the Czech long-term investment product (DIP) framework, as well as in pension fund portfolios,” says Petr Koblic, CEO of the Prague Stock Exchange.

WOOD PX ETF is an accumulating ETF: dividends received from companies in its portfolio are automatically reinvested rather than paid out to investors. The ETF is traded in Czech koruna and the investment therefore carries no currency risk.

WOOD Financial Services provides liquidity as the ETF’s market maker. Trade settlement and custody of the fund units are handled through the Prague Stock Exchange and the Central Securities Depository Prague.

Strong Years for the Prague Stock Exchange

WOOD PX ETF comes to market following a period of strong growth in Czech equities. The PX Index has achieved a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 14.5% over the past seven years. In 2025, the index rose by 52.6%, following gains of 24.5% in 2024 and 17.7% in 2023.

Simple, Fast and Cost-Efficient

WOOD PX ETF’s annual TER of 0.20% is highly competitive compared with selected European single-country ETFs. In the comparison used, an ETF focused on Austria has a TER of 0.32%, while those focused on Italy and Portugal charge 0.35%, Belgium and Ireland 0.50%, Greece 0.55% and Poland 0.74%.

Investors will be able to purchase WOOD PX ETF through most licensed securities brokers. It is also available to retail investors through the Portu investment platform from its first day of trading.

“I am particularly pleased that we have succeeded in creating an ETF tracking the Prague Stock Exchange with a low expense ratio. This makes WOOD PX ETF a clear choice for investors who want to invest in Czech equities simply, passively and regularly, including through the DIP framework. At Portu, we will also enable fractional trading, allowing investors to start with as little as CZK 100. The purchase itself is simple and fast, and in brokerage mode investors can see the purchased WOOD PX ETF in their portfolio within just a few seconds,” concludes Radim Krejčí, Founder and CEO of Portu.
